Writer Out and About

This week I went to Mizu. It is a sophisticated cafe in the basement and a luxury spa on the upper floors. The food is very nice and gives the illusion of being healthy. As you can see the decor is relaxed and almost homelike. I had lunch in Mizu a while ago and liked the place and that was why I choose it for writing this week. Oddly enough, I didn't find it a good place to write. I couldn't find any crannies to hide in and I wasn't as relaxed as I have been in my other haunts. Just goes to show.
I took with me this week paper, pen - oh, you know the list.

Definitely a cosy place you found there. But somehow I have a feeling I won't be too comfy in there also.

I don't know... it just feels like I'm in my grandma's kitchen and I have to be in my best behaviour.

How can I get my creative juices flowing if I'm in my best behaviour?

The illusion of being healthy.... ha ha ha, i like that. it's a nice place (from your pics). hope you can find a new haunt to get that creative juices flowing, like aizan said.

Personally, i also write with my true self (evil, sarcastic, not very polite) loose. being nice is boring. :)

It looks lovely. Perhaps you should try meeting someone for your writer out and about sessions. Good company can spark the creative juices. Not that yours seem to need much sparking

The name Mizu sounds lovely, what did you eat? I know the focus was the writing, but I get VERY easily distracted by ....food. Sorry!

Glad to see the writer is still going out and about! Where is Mizu? Local or a drive away???

That is it exactly Aizan. I had to be on my best behaviour and I couldn't relax and write.

It takes a specal place to let your true self out to write. The search continues, Shadowthorne.

Good idea Anon, but I am afraid I would have too much fun chatting and not do any writing!

No probs SSQuo! :) I had a tartlet filled with spinach, feta and sun dried tomatoes with a side salad of warm chilli potatoes and a side of carrots with pumpkin seeds. All this was washed down with water and cappuccino. Yum.

Hi Valpot. Mizu is near Seatown Place in Dundalk. I think technically it is Jocelyn Street, but it is so near Seatown it is within spitting distance (as they say) of my old school.

Yum yum! I am heading to the refrigerator to munch on my potato salad! :) Thanks for the details, I have to say you may just have a career in menu writing!

Thanks SS. :) I must remember to include the menu the next time I eat out and about.
